“The Dunalastair was a pleasant surprise at the end of a long and winding road, and I mean that literally! We booked online thinking it would shorten our ride to Edinburgh from Loch Ness because the Expedia website said it was in Pitlochry, but it’s actually 20 miles away from Pitlochry! Since it was a one-night stay and rainy we weren’t able to enjoy all of the property, but the rooms were spacious and modern, the restaurant featured excellent food and service, and the front desk staff was……

“Loved it Incredible view Very comfortable stay”

“Great, clean room with wonderful breakfast included.”

“Peter's service at check in and bar service was warm and welcoming”

“The building is pretty cool & their staff is very helpful. The room is pretty old but still ok. ”

“Verandah for breakfast and dinner bit understaffed. Long wait for wine and meal. 1 hour after ordering. Meal a bit underwhelming. Long wait for bread tea and coffee at breakfast Stags head bar very efficient”

“There is no staff present and the hosts don't reply when you email them. The rooms are cozy and clean but not sound proof. Breakfast is provided along with fresh eggs but there's no way to cook them other than in a microwave. The bathroom has a tub and a handheld shower, impossible for anyone to shower without wetting the entire bathroom. The bathroom sink is little more than a birdbath. No fan or ventilation other than opening the front door.”

“What a beautiful small hotel with the most helpful and respectful staff. Traditional lounge with real fire was so nice to come back to on a cold October evening. Fantastic breakfast offering cooked to your exact requirements. The room was very welcoming with lots of small but welcome additions to make your stay more comfortable. Well placed for the town which is just a short walk away.”

“Good hotel. Hotel food is great and price is reasonable. Lots of activities around hotel. A river next to hotel is very beautiful. ”

“Beds were poor and WiFi reception was appalling. Other than that, it was great”

“This is a very historic hotel with lots of charm. If you want a modern, sterile hotel, don't stay here. If you like floors that have settled with age, friendly and interesting st aff, a great little pub with a good traditional breakfast, and steeped in the history of Scotland, this is a comfortable and safe hotel. I appreciated the value (cost and convenience) which made this stay affordable.”
